8-34-50.

An 8 minute walk from 34 Brunswick road to 50 Davenport Avenue.

I made these series of ceramic sculptures based on a walk I did in Manchester 'an 8 minute walk from 34 Brunswick road to 50 Davenport avenue.

The collection of old and abandoned materials found while walking forms the basis of my sculptures.

The process of making starts by photocopying the found material, cutting it out and tracing the shapes onto flat sheets of clay. I then pieced the flat sections together creating upright structures.

I then used the photocopies of the objects to create collages that are then re-apply to the exterior of the sculptures in the final stage of firing.

Once the structures have been fired and glazed I add ceramic decals of the original objects back onto the surface of the forms.
